When Was the Last Time You Did Something for the First Time?

There’s a moment in your life, when your soul whispers quietly . . . there’s more.

Not more to prove or chase.

But more of you still waiting to be discovered.

To feel alive.

In your body. In your breath. In your soul.

Maybe you’ve spent years wishing. Wanting. Telling yourself one day. One day when I'm thinner. One day when I have more money. One day when things fall into place.

But what if one day is today?

What if it's time to stop waiting?

Because every time you wait for the perfect moment . . . you miss the magical ones.

So I decided to stop waiting.

Not long ago, I picked up a tennis racket for the first time. As someone who comes from a tennis family, I’d watched tennis all my life, admired the grace and strength of it. But I’d never really played.

And let me tell you . . . it’s far more challenging than it looks. It demands your full presence, engages your body and your mind, and humbles you in the best way.

And I fell in love with it.

Not because I was good at it (even though I felt like a champion when I nailed my first backhand and felt it in my bones), but because I gave myself permission to start.

And this is what we often forget.

We wait.

We put it off.

There’s always something more practical, more pressing, more important.

So our dreams and desires stay quietly tucked away in the 'someday' drawer . . . but your soul doesn’t speak in someday. It speaks in now.

And sometimes, the longing shows up in unexpected ways.

Like the dresses.

Long, flowing, feminine dresses I used to admire but never wore. I stuck to pants, jeans, casual t-shirt dresses for years. Until one day I slipped into a soft, beautiful viscose dress that made me feel like I was finally me.

Something shifted. My shoulders softened. My heart opened. I felt radiant. And empowered.

My little boy looked at me and said, “You’re wearing your spiritual dress, mama.”

He saw it. He felt it.

So did I.

So, what's waiting for you?

Maybe it’s a dance class.

Maybe it’s a new city.

Maybe it’s painting or walking alone on the beach at sunrise. Maybe it’s resting. Saying no. Speaking your truth.

Doing something for the first time is a declaration. You are willing to meet yourself in new ways. It's how you reclaim your magic. By being present and intentional.

I want you to know this, beautiful soul.

You’re not too old.

You’re not too young.

You’re not behind.

And you don’t need permission to begin.

Doing something for the first time doesn’t require a dramatic leap. Sometimes it’s a quiet, tender decision. Putting your hand over your heart and whispering yes. Choosing what feels aligned instead of what feels expected. And it can change everything.

So if your heart has been nudging you, listen. Begin. Be surprised.

Because the first time might just be the beginning of a part of you you’ve been waiting to meet all along.
